The Scottish Highlands Major

The Highlands Are Calling

Welcome to the Scotland Highlands Major, a pilgrimage through the most mystical corner of the game’s homeland. This journey stretches from the rugged shores of Inverness to the pure linksland of Dornoch and the far edge of the North Scottish coast, where golf feels ancient, unfiltered, and deeply human.

You will play ten rounds across landscapes shaped by wind, history, and some of the greatest architects to ever touch the game. Cabot Highlands. Royal Dornoch. Brora. Cullen. Durness. And a Ryder Cup style showdown across Nairn’s revered layouts. This is golf at the edge of the world, wrapped in community, storytelling, and the quiet magic that only Scotland can deliver.

Settle into Highland towns, share evenings with new friends, and walk fairways where the game grew up.

THE SCHEDULE

September 19 | Arrival

Land at Edinburgh Airport, meet the group, and board the private coach at 2pm headed north through the Highlands. Check into the AC Hotel Inverness and join us for a welcome dinner featuring Scottish golf historian Harry Ward who will set the stage for the journey ahead.

September 20 | Cabot Highlands: Castle Stuart and Old Petty

The pilgrimage starts with a rare double at Cabot Highlands. Morning golf at Castle Stuart, a modern links masterpiece with sweeping views of the Moray Firth. Afternoon on Old Petty, the brand new Tom Doak design that golfers around the world are already buzzing about. Open, wind carved, and unforgettable.

September 21 | Cullen Links and Covesea

Depart Inverness and head east to one of the quirkiest and most joyful links on the planet. Cullen Links is pure seaside golf chaos in the best way possible with blind shots, stacked cliffs, and holes squeezed between rock formations. Then a 9 hole Mad Scramble at nearby Covesea, a tiny oceanside course tucked against cliffs and crashing waves.

September 22 | RGC Ryder Cup at Nairn

A full day Ryder Cup style match between RGC Members. Start with 9 holes on Nairn Cameron then 18 on the Championship Course, one of Scotland’s finest tests with firm and fast fairways running right along the coast. Team colors will be assigned. Bragging rights will not be forgotten. Check into the Dornoch Station Hotel afterward.

September 23 | Royal Dornoch

A cathedral of golf. Royal Dornoch is widely considered one of the greatest courses in the world and a place every golfer should see once in their life. Wild, natural, strategic, and spiritual. A round here changes you.

September 24 | Brora and Durness

Start at Brora, a James Braid design where sheep and cattle roam the fairways and electric fences protect the greens. It is golf stripped down to its purest form. Finish with Durness, perched high on the edge of the Highlands. Nine holes of cliffside beauty played until sunset, which lasts a surprisingly long time in the north.

September 25 | Fortrose and Rosemarkie

Check out of Dornoch Station and head south to the Chanonry Peninsula for one of Scotland’s oldest clubs. Fortrose and Rosemarkie offers tight, windswept linksland and views that stretch across the Moray Firth. After the round, transfer to Edinburgh and check into the Apex Grassmarket Hotel. Join the group for a final awards dinner at Hawksmoor.

September 26 | Departure

Make your own way to Edinburgh Airport. You will leave with stories, friendships, and a deeper sense of why the Highlands have always been the soul of the game.
