There's a course in Roggen, Colorado, that's opening soon. It's called Rodeo Dunes. The fairways are still bedding in, the clubhouse hasn't quite grown into its photographs, and the people who built it will tell you, if you ask, that the place is going to play differently every week for the rest of the year. They don't sound worried about it when they say it. They sound pleased.

72 of us are going to spend two days out there before the rest of golf has worked out what to make of it. Three rounds across a course that's still deciding what kind of great it wants to be.

This isn't a course you've heard about. It's one you'll be able to say you found early.

Join us July 8th to 10th, 2026.

The Schedule

July 9 | Day 1

We meet in the morning. Details to come. Then we head out to Rodeo Dunes for our first look at the course. 36 vs 36 to start. Two sides stepping onto something that is not fully formed yet. After lunch, we go again. 18 vs 18, with the rest joining from the losing side. The format shifts. The stakes stay the same. As the sun drops, we gather for dinner and Showdeo. Stories, music, and whatever the day left behind.

July 10 | Day 2

Breakfast onsite at Rodeo Dunes. A slow start before the final push. Back out for one last round. 9 vs 9, with the rest joining from the losing teams. One more chance to take it. Lunch together. Then awards. A closing moment to recognize the play, the people, and the chance to step onto something new before the rest of the world.

“THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS. YOU DREAM ABOUT WORKING WITH LAND LIKE THIS.”

—Jim Craig, architect

THE HISTORY

Rodeo Dunes is built on nearly 4,000 acres of rolling sandhills outside Denver, the kind of land golf architects spend their careers searching for. Discovered almost by accident and shaped more by wind than by machines, it carries the same raw potential that defined places like Sand Hills and Bandon Dunes.

Developed by Michael Keiser and Dream Golf, and brought to life by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the course follows a philosophy of restraint. The land leads. The design listens. With dunes rising up to 85 feet and a pure sand base underneath, there’s little need to force anything into place.

Fairways move with the natural contours instead of against them. Greens emerge from the terrain rather than being built on top of it. The scale is massive, but the shaping is subtle. It feels less like something constructed and more like something uncovered.
