Sunningdale Heath sits tucked into the heart of English heathland, surrounded by its famous neighbors yet carrying its own magic. This is intimate, architectural golf designed for shot shaping, imagination, and pure fun.
This Classic blends the best of RGC culture with the spirit of British club golf: walkable fairways, wild heather, a welcoming membership, and a layout that rewards creativity over power. Add a post-round BBQ and a 9-hole Mad Scramble and you get a day that feels proudly local and fully Random.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROUND A CLASSIC?
Playing Sunningdale Heath feels like stepping inside golf’s past while celebrating what the game can be today. It is strategic, walkable, welcoming, and full of character. Add a communal BBQ and a twilight scramble and this becomes one of the most joyful Classics we have ever hosted. Golf rarely feels this personal or this fun.
THE HISTORY
Originally laid out in 1911 by two absolute giants, Harry Colt and James Braid, Sunningdale Heath was built as a women’s course and later evolved into one of the purest examples of heathland architecture in England.
In 2019 the club underwent thoughtful restoration that honored its heritage while elevating the conditioning and shot variety. What remains is one of the most enjoyable walking rounds in the country and a timeless example of how much fun short courses can be.

No. RGC Classics are built for all skill levels. We do cap playing handicaps at 18 for men and 28 for women to keep the competition fair.
Yes. We’ll pair you with another RGC Member. Most friendships start on the first tee anyway.
Your round of golf, RGC gifts, entry into contests, and the full-day Classic experience. Everything that is outlined in the Event Details section.
Definitely. Just be mindful of other players and the pace of play. We’ll also have an event photographer sharing photos after the round.
Competitive enough to make it fun, not serious enough to ruin the vibes.
Caddies depend on the course and are optional. They are not included in the ticket price.
