After our visit to Fox Chapel in 2025, we knew we needed another stop on the Seth Raynor trail. Tamarack Country Club delivers that in full. Built in 1929 and restored with care, Tamarack is a showcase of Raynor’s bold geometry, iconic template holes, and strategic architecture that asks smart questions on every shot.
This Classic is an invitation to walk one of Connecticut’s finest Golden Age courses with forty RGC Members for a full day of competition and storymaking in a setting that feels as timeless as the game itself.

THE HISTORY
Tamarack Country Club is a Connecticut original, designed by Charles Banks in 1929 and shaped through decades of thoughtful restoration. It’s the kind of place where precision matters more than power and where the bunkering tells the story of early American golf architecture.
Perched in Greenwich, the course still carries the rhythm of its original 1920s routing. The design is straightforward in appearance but full of layers once you step inside the ropes. It rewards good thinking, punishes carelessness, and turns every approach into a puzzle that only Raynor could draw up.

No. RGC Classics are built for all skill levels. We do cap playing handicaps at 18 for men and 28 for women to keep the competition fair.
Yes. We’ll pair you with another RGC Member. Most friendships start on the first tee anyway.

Definitely. Just be mindful of other players and the pace of play. We’ll also have an event photographer sharing photos after the round.
Competitive enough to make it fun, not serious enough to ruin the vibes.
Caddies depend on the course and are optional. They are not included in the ticket price.
