THE HISTORY
Built in 1998 by the late Mike Strantz, Tobacco Road is the course architects point to when they talk about creativity without compromise. Strantz only designed a handful of courses before his passing, but each one shifted how golfers think about strategy, scale, and fun. This one might be his most iconic.
Fairways twist between massive dunes, greens sit perched in dramatic amphitheaters, and the opening tee shot alone tells you this place refuses to be ordinary. Tobacco Road asks you to pick a line and trust your instincts. It rewards bold ideas, and it punishes hesitation.

No. RGC Classics are built for all skill levels. We do cap playing handicaps at 18 for men and 28 for women to keep the competition fair.
Yes. We’ll pair you with another RGC Member. Most friendships start on the first tee anyway.

Definitely. Just be mindful of other players and the pace of play. We’ll also have an event photographer sharing photos after the round.

Caddies depend on the course and are optional. They are not included in the ticket price.
